Character Grade Solid Ash Wood Flooring
Lighter in colour than European oak, English Ash is perfect to bring brightness and clean lines to a darker room and for many other contemporary finishes where a light airy ambience is favoured. English Ash is a hardwood, not quite so hard as oak but plenty hard enough for all high wear areas such as hall and passageways.
Our Character Grade Ash flooring is a grade below prime, giving the room a little bit more character with a classically rustic look with some sound knots, fine splits and fillable defects. As these boards are cut from a natural product a very slight variation in colour is to be expected however the overall look will still be cohesive across all boards.
Kiln dried to approximately 8%-12% moisture content.
Our ash floorboards are supplied in a tongue and groove all round profile with micro-bevelled edges and will be fully end matched to create a seamless finish to your hardwood flooring and allows the flooring to be joined anywhere not just over a joist which saves huge amounts of cutting and waste.
These floorboards will be supplied unfinished, ready for you to add a finish of your choice if required. We offer a range of Treatex oils that are perfect for this use.
Available in a variety of widths to allow you to create the finish you desire, from 120mm to 200mm for a more luxurious feel to your flooring design.
Our range of English Ash skirting, architrave and mouldings will enable your project to be completed with matching materials, some possibly even cut from the very same tree as your flooring.
Supplied in random lengths from 400mm upwards, we try to include as many long length boards as possible up to 3500mm. The price advertised is per square metre (m2).
Please remember that the longer you leave these boards to acclimatise to their new surroundings, the less prone to movement the boards will be when fitted. These boards are machined from a natural product, therefore as the temperature and humidity varies throughout the year, it should be expected that your boards may move slightly as the boards' contract and expand.
