Deluxe Heavy Duty English Larch - Douglas Fir Log Store
It is of the utmost importance to ensure that your wood reserves are protected so that you always have dry wood available for your fire. For green (wet) wood to dry, it needs to be seasoned. To season green wood, it should be left outside and open to the elements so that there is adequate air flow to your wood, thus enhancing the drying process; it is best to store it under a roofed shelter that is open at the sides.
Our Heavy Duty Deluxe English Larch/Douglas Fir Log Store is designed bearing this in mind; with air flow slats and a watertight roof to enhance air flow to your wood, allowing your logs to season whilst remaining dry.
English Larch and Douglas Fir are definitively regarded as the most hard wearing of all domestic softwoods - both are beautiful in appearance and incredibly resilient.
Due to the timbers ultra-high resin content, this log store requires no treatment, however should you wish to apply a coat of Treatex Douglas Fir Protection, this will preserve the supplied colour a little longer and provide additional weather resistance. The colour of English Larch/Douglas Fir varies from a beautiful deep red to pink to cream and is completely random, it adds serious character to the most adaptable of English softwoods. If left untreated, it will become a beautiful silver/grey colour once weathered.
Taking good care of wood in exterior applications is of paramount importance as it not only provides protection for your log store but it will also enhance its natural beauty and feel. By protecting it from the elements you'll also be increasing its resistance against rot, decay and insect attack.
